This two-day instructor-led course introduces students to the new features and standards that are offered and supported in IBM WebSphere Application Server Version 8, Network Deployment (ND).
In this course, students learn how to install, configure, and maintain IBM WebSphere Application Server V8 Network Deployment, and how to deploy enterprise Java applications. Students also learn how to work with new features in WebSphere Application Server V8, such as flexible management, administrative console extensions, security enhancements, and logging.
Hands-on exercises throughout the course are designed to reinforce lecture content. The lab exercises allow students to gain practical experience with WebSphere Application Server V8 by performing tasks such as installing and assembling applications, using logging capabilities, and implementing administrative security.

Audience
This intermediate course is designed for administrators with previous experience working with WebSphere Application Server Version 7 who install, configure, and manage Web-based applications on WebSphere Application Server V8. Web masters, lead application developers, and application architects may also benefit from this course.
Prerequistes
Students should have:
- Administration skills for a web server, such as IBM HTTP Server or Apache
- Basic operational skills for the SUSE Linux operating system
- Experience using WebSphere Application Server V7
