In this course, you will learn about the architecture, installation, and configuration elements for the Cisco Nexus 1000V in a Microsoft Server 2012 Hyper-V environment with integration of Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager (VMM) version 2012 SP1. This course includes hands-on labs in which you will configure a Microsoft Hyper-V environment; install Virtual Machine Manager; as well as install, upgrade, and configure the Nexus 1000V with high availability. You will also learn about uplink design options, policy mobility during virtual machine migration, as well as monitoring and security features and tools.

The Cisco Nexus 1000V is a virtual switch that resides within the Microsoft 2012 Server Hyper-V environment and provides operations and management consistency with existing Cisco Nexus and Catalyst switches. The Nexus 1000V uses the Microsoft's Extensible Virtual Switch framework and integrates with the Cisco Nexus 1010/1100 virtual network appliances and Virtual Services Blades (VSB), to offer tightly integrated network services as part of a comprehensive data center server virtualization strategy.
