Duration: 5 Days

Red Hat Enterprise Performance Tuning is designed to teach senior Linux system administrators the methodology of performance tuning for Red Hat Enterprise Linux. In this course, you will gain a better understanding of the system architecture with an emphasis on the implications of system architecture on system performance. You will learn the methods for testing the effects of performance adjustments, open source benchmarking utilities, methods for analyzing system and networking performance, and tuning configurations for specific application loads.

Certification:

Upon passing the exam, you'll receive a Certificate of Expertise for Enterprise System Monitoring and Performance Tuning This exam is one out of three exams needed to earn the RHCDS certification and one out of five exams needed to earn the RHCA certification.

What You Will Learn

  • Tuning for use-case scenarios (HPC, large memory, database, and file server)
  • Tuning for power consumption
  • Tuning virtual machines (host and guest)
  • Tuning memory and caches
  • Tuning CPU and memory utilization using cgroups
  • Gathering performance metrics and other data for tuning purposes

Audience

RHCEs who want to prepare for and take the Red Hat Enterprise Performance Tuning exam. If you are not an RHCE, you should enroll in RH442, a four-day course that does not include the exam.
