This course is designed to describe and teach the main administrative tasks required for IBM InfoSphere Information Server clients and server.
What You Will Learn
- Identify Information Server components, including functional components, product modules, and architecture components
- Log into and use Information Server product clients and administration clients
- Configure Information Server security for users and groups
- Manage Information server sessions
- Start and stop Information Server components
- Configure logging and reporting
- Configure DataStage projects and objects, including environment variables, data sets, job message handlers, and configuration files
- Use the Engine Performance Analysis and Resource Estimator tools
- Establish database connectivity with Information Server using direct API connections and ODBC drivers
- Gather and process operational metadata
- Manage metadata assets using istool and Information Server Manager
- Create, build, and deploy packages using Information Server Manager
- Troubleshoot using audit trace files and ISA Lite
- Back up and restore Information Server
- Configure Information Server clients, including Information Analyzer, FastTrack, and Metadata Workbench
- Use Import Export Manager to import metadata from external tools into the Information Server Repository
- Install and deploy Information Server
Audience
This intermediate course is for Information Server administrators who will be supporting developers for IBM InfoSphere Information Server and IBM InfoSphere Information Server for z/OS products, including DataStage, QualityStage, Information Analyzer, FastTrack, and Metadata Workbench.
